Recreating the United States Currency
As a child I always wanted to see an African American on the United States Currency. That still hasn't happened (yet), so I figured I would give the US a head start. In my research I found that although there have never been African American faces on the US Currency there have been men and women to serve in the positions of the Secretary of State, as well as the Treasurer of the United States and therefore have signed a few series, if you don't believe me check it out.
Some people may not agree with the people I chose for the fifty and two dollar bills, but hear me out. I had a difficult time choosing who I wanted to be on each series (there is one more series that I will post later); however, chose Sean "Puffy" Combs and Sean "Jay-Z" Carter as my "royal subjects." These men have both made notable contributions to the US economy (with their record sales, clothing lines, etc.) and Hip Hop. This was my "Ode to Hip Hop, US Currency Style".
I elected Russell Simmons as the Secretary of the Treasury because he too has made a HUGE contribution to Hip Hop, Urban Fashion Trends and the US economy (again through all the products he has in circulation). Bob Johnson for me was just someone that knows how to make that money! So hey, why not, presto chango he's my Treasurer of the United States.

Painting, On Clothes
(full back)
I surprise myself sometimes. I have never considered myself much of a painter until recently. I believe next time I may take this to another level, but I am pleased with the way this polo turned out. Of course I had to represent for my city, Charlotte, NC (aka the Queen City). Stay tuned for more ventures as such.

Branding, Newsletter Design
It was a suggestion that the undergraduate chapter I was a member of create a newsletter. This newsletter took it's trial run for the duration of the 2006-2007 school year. It was successful, but difficult to keep up since the chapter was so small. Every edition was 8.5x11 with the exception of the summer edition (8.5x5.5).

Informational Flyer, Just a Taste.
I worked for the Student Organization Graphics Office at UNCG, so most of my work has been for a lot of sororities or fraternities. Some of these organizations were familiar to me, others weren't (in which case required an amount of research). This flyer was an informational flyer for a sorority having a movie night, followed by a discussion, for black history month(8.5x11).
